Lonestar Taco brings the lively flavors of Mexico and Texas to New York.
From our signature house made tortillas to our braised meats, we're dedicated to the slow way of making intense and aromatic food. We create seasonal menu items that showcase the region's bounty through sourcing our ingredients from local farmers and producers. Our food warms the heart, nourishes the soul and is a bright point in the day when served with a smile.
During the warmer months, you can find us and our food at New Amsterdam Market. For the winter, we are offering a number of our products so that you can recreate some of our favorite flavors at home.
We are Tracie Lee and Wayne Surber, we've been married since 2006. We met back in the summer of 2001 when we were both 'tech' folks. We moved to NYC in 2003 and Wayne changed careers shortly thereafter spending some time at Chez Panisse as an intern and moving into the opening team of Bouchon Bakery in 2006. He left his Executive Sous Chef position at Bouchon and said goodbye to Chef Keller back in 2010 and we both went on a long trip.
Tracie Lee has been in and around the web since the late '90's and hacking and making it more beautiful. When she's not doing that she's smiling and taking orders at our stand at New Amsterdam Market or coming up with some brilliant idea for how we can help make the world a better place.
